The umbrella frame used must be produced by well-known major manufacturers in the industry, with reliable quality and sturdy material. The procurement of umbrella fabric is also very strict. Every roll of umbrella fabric must be inspected by a running fabric machine after arriving at the factory to ensure there are no defects such as broken yarn or damage.
The process of making an umbrella is as follows: The term "large cutting" refers to the process of cutting a roll of umbrella fabric into long strips of small width (for a three-fold umbrella, three strips can be obtained). This process can be accomplished using a cutting machine or by using a blade by the workers. Once the fabric pieces are cut, they will be sewn together (to prevent the umbrella fabric from unraveling) and then handed over to the small cutter (referred to as "small cutter" hereafter) for further processing.
The term "small cutting" refers to the process of dividing the long strips of umbrella fabric after the large cutting into individual triangular pieces, which will serve as the umbrella's surface. The workers first make a triangular wooden frame using some wooden strips, place the frame on the umbrella fabric, and then carefully cut out the pieces one by one using a blade. This process is entirely done by hand and no machinery is used.
There are several printing methods that can be used in the production of umbrellas, among which screen printing is the most common. First, a screen plate is made using a sun-drying machine, then the screen plate is fixed on a square wooden frame. Next, the worker pours the paint into the frame and covers the triangular umbrella fabric with the wooden frame. With a light sweep of the brush, the pattern will be printed on the umbrella fabric. This process can be completed by either machinery or manual labor. The advantage of screen printing is that the pattern is bright and clear in color. It is usually ideal to print solid-colored patterns or company logos.
Screen printing involves stretching a woven fabric, synthetic fiber fabric, or metal wire mesh onto a frame, and then creating a screen printing plate using manual engraving of an ink film or photochemical plate-making methods. During the printing process, the ink is squeezed by a scraper, passing through the mesh holes of the graphic area and transferring to the substrate to form the same graphic as the original. Screen printing equipment is simple, easy to operate, and the printing and plate-making are simple with low costs, and it has strong adaptability. Screen printing is widely used in common printed products such as color oil paintings, posters, business cards, binding covers, product labels, and printed textiles.
After the silk-screening is completed, the triangular pieces can be sewn together by sewing machines to form different types of umbrellas. The number of triangular pieces on the umbrella surface varies from 6 to 24. Workers sew each triangular piece one by one by hand. This step is extremely important. The needle of the sewing machine should be fine and the number of stitches should be sufficient; otherwise, water may seep through when it rains.
After the umbrella surface is completed, workers use a specially designed machine to install umbrella beads at each corner. Umbrella beads are important accessories for umbrellas, used to fix the umbrella surface onto the umbrella ribs. They are made of plastic or iron and come in various shapes to choose from. Umbrellas also need to be equipped with umbrella straps and umbrella covers. Then, the umbrella surface needs to be top-stitched (otherwise the umbrella cannot be installed on the umbrella stand) and the umbrella straps need to be sewn onto the umbrella surface.
This process involves joining the umbrella fabric to the ribs. Workers must sew the fabric to the ribs by hand, stitch by stitch, without using any machinery. Typically, workers use two to three knots on each rib to secure the fabric and the ribs tightly.

②. Releasing Umbrella Test:
After the umbrellas are completed, they need to be inspected to ensure there are no issues. Once it is confirmed that there are no problems, the umbrellas should be covered with cloth covers and PVC rubber covers. Then, they need to be packed. After packing, the weight of each box should be checked to ensure that the quantity in each box is the same. Finally, they are stored in the warehouse and await delivery.
